Doc JPL

Dr. Jennifer Powell-Lunder is a clinical psychologist specializing in work with tweens, teens, adults, and their families. She is of the co-author of the book Teenage as a Second Language (Adams Media 2010). She is the creator of  www.itsatweenslife.com an interactive and informational website for parents and tweens and co-creator of www.Talkingteenage.com  an interactive informational website for the parents of teenagers.

She is a regular writer for Psychology Today, and Examiner. She enjoyed tenure as a Family & Pet writer for New York’s CBS.com. She has been featured in The Huffington Post, Huffington Post Live, Yahoo, AOL’s ParentDish, Mamapedia and contributes regularly to many other blogs, websites, and publications too numerous to name.

Dr. JPL is the spokesperson, a consultant, and a contributor to the social responsibility website The Alcohol Talk, designed as a resource to help parents talk with their teens about concerns related to alcohol use.

She is profiled in Westchester Magazine’s January 2012 feature on ‘People to Watch.’

Dr. JPL is a published researcher, accomplished speaker and consultant on tween, teen, and young adult issues. She has been featured internationally and is a regular consultant to Parenting Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, The Chicago Tribune and syndicated Tribune papers.

Dr. JPL is regularly featured as an  Expert on both radio and television including,  NPR’s Talk of the Nation, NBC’s TODAY in New York, Better TV, More, WCBS, Fox, ABC, and their affiliates talking about tween, teen and adult issues.

Dr. JPL is an adjunct professor of psychology at Pace University.  She spent almost a decade as a Program Director of an adolescent unit at a private psychiatric hospital. 

Dr. JPL sits on the Board of Directors for Family Ties, a non-profit family advocacy agency serving Westchester County, NY.

Dr. JPL. maintains a private outpatient practice in Bedford Hills, NY.
